Policies

Registration: Students may register for lessons and classes at any time during the year. Fees will be pro-rated according to the number of lessons remaining in the current semester. Lesson times are allotted to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Please follow these steps to ensure a smooth registration

1. Complete an enrollment application (available upon request), including days and times that you are available for lessons.
2. Read the policy information carefully. Sign the form and submit it to the school office along with payment
3. A member of the school staff will call to confirm your lesson time, teachers name and starting date.

Tuition Payment: Fees for lessons and classes can be obtained by calling the school office or requesting a registration form. A $50 non-refundable registration fee per family will secure a place in the schedule. There will be a $25 discount per family if full payment is made at the time of registation.

Attendance: The instructor need not make up lessons missed by students. Please be courteous and call if you will be absent. If an instructor is absent, you will be notified and the lesson rescheduled. If school is closed due to inclement weather, you will be notified.

Refunds: Refunds will not be issued for lessons missed due to student absences. A student who misses two consecutive lessons without proper notification may automatically be withdrawn from the Academy and no refund will be issued. Students who drop after the 4th lesson may not be entitled to a refund.

Withdrawals: It is expected that all enrolled students remain at the Academy for the entire school year. Students who have 3 consecutive absences may be considered withdrawing from the Academy and are not entitled to any refund. If a student is forced to drop, a drop form must be filled in by a parent to be considered official 2 weeks before the last lesson.

Practice Habits: Parents must be aware that consistent practice is essential for a child to experience success. This is the responsibility of the parent and child.

Performance Scholarships: Granted by audition. Students may audition on Saturday October 13 between 10am and 3pm. No appointment is necessary. Students will be judged on technique, musicianship, and memorization. Students should bring a copy of their music to the audition.

Summer Session: Private lessons are given in the summer. Please discuss lesson times and dates with your teachers. New students may also begin instruction during the summer session.
